400 KV POWER LINES
Project type: Infrastructure object
Client: UAB Litgrid AB
Investment: 400 kV overhead line assembly
Time: 2015
Company: LEC
Country: Lithuania
Project description
LEC assembled and installed new 400 kV overhead cable line in Lithuania, Alytus county, in the section between pole No. 56 and pole No. 87. It constitutes the interconnection between Lithuania and Poland. Despite the very limited timeframe of two months, LEC contribution was significant – 400 kV overhead cable line assembly was carried out, which included the necessary preparatory work, fitting of the assembly rollers, installing of the wires, wire reinforcement in the anchor supports, wire reinforcement in the intermediate supports, spacers assembly and wire connection in the anchoring supports (loops) with the extrusion method that is not used in Latvia.
The total length of the assembled cable lines along the track is 10,897 km, assembled total of wires is 65,382 kilometres (6 phases). The works were carried out at a height of 21 meters to 50 meters. This was one of the first major LEC projects in overhead line construction outside Latvia, and it also stood out with 400 kV cable assembly, since the highest voltage in Latvia is 330 kV. It was new, valuable experience, which no doubt made the LEC more capable and more competitive for other projects.
